About Us
At Engage Church, we value genuine relationships and true discipleship. Our teachings are focused on connecting people to Christ and sharing Good News with the 901.
We are a diverse, multicultural church, encouraging all to join us as they are and dig into the life-changing message of Jesus. Join our one-of-a-kind (read: different) community, where we engage people with love, help our community move forward, and follow Jesus in hopes of changing the world.

As a church, there are the four ways that we intend to live out our mission:
Help
Memphis Move Forward
Memphis is more than just where we live—it’s our city. Through service, outreach, and a commitment to justice, we are dedicated to making our city stronger.
Follow
Jesus
A life of faith requires following Christ completely. We help people take their next steps with Jesus, whether that’s through worship, discipleship, or community.
Change
The World
When we’re actively engaged in our mission, we believe we will change the world. In living out our faith, we become a part of something bigger that transforms lives everywhere.
Engage
People With Love
We pursue the presence of God through individual and communal spiritual practices.

Our Values
We are committed to the values of the gospel. Our mission is to engage people with love, help our community move forward, follow Jesus, and change the world.
Our Beliefs
-
We believe in the Trinity—that God is one being in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are distinct yet perfectly united, working together to create, sustain, and fulfill God’s purpose for humanity. It’s more than just a doctrine; it’s a way for us to connect more deeply with God and understand His heart for us. When we grasp the Trinity, we gain a clearer picture of who God is and how He is moving in our everyday lives.
-
We believe that the Bible is the record of God's Word breathed out, accurately capturing His message for humanity. It serves as our authoritative and accurate guide for life, providing wisdom and direction for daily living. Through Scripture, we learn about God’s character, how to live in alignment with His will, and how to deepen our understanding of His love.
-
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is the Word of God made flesh. Jesus was sent by God to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so that we could experience everlasting life with Him. We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, which demonstrated His deity and offered the promise of eternal life to all who believe. We believe we are called to follow Him, sharing the good news of the gospel with the 901 and the world.
-
We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that sin separates us from God, and without salvation, we are doomed to an eternity of separation from God. We believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us and give us eternal life. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We believe salvation is by faith alone. We define faith as believing that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do. By trusting Jesus to be our Lord and Savior, we gain the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.

At Engage Church, we believe baptism is a bold and meaningful way to show that you’re all in with Jesus. It’s not just a tradition—it’s an outward expression of your commitment to follow Him. We keep things simple and real, making baptism a celebration of your decision to step into a new life with Christ. It’s a moment for new believers to let everyone know they’re ready to live out their faith and be part of something bigger than themselves.
-
We believe that the church exists to bring the message of Jesus to everyone, no matter their background or story. We see the church as a community that engages people with love, serves others, and follows Jesus together. It’s not about sticking to traditions—it’s about encountering Christ consistently and sharing the hope we find together. Our church aims to be a welcoming place where people can find a sense of belonging and join together in changing the world.
-
We believe prayer is powerful—whether it’s just you talking to God or a whole group coming together in prayer. It’s how we connect with Him, seeking guidance, strength, healing, protection, and support for our family, friends, and community. Prayer isn’t complicated; it’s our way of having real conversations with God, listening for His direction, and trusting that He hears us. As we pray, we open ourselves to God’s will and direction for our lives, growing closer to Him and understanding how to live out His purpose.
These are just a few of our core beliefs. At Engage, we believe that true understanding of core beliefs comes not just from words on a website but from real, face-to-face conversations. Not everyone will agree at all times, but meaningful discussions help us explore our thoughts, questions, and faith together. We’d love to connect with you—let’s grab a cup of coffee and have a conversation!
